When Words…

What is there say
When words fade away
And tomorrow looks darker
Than yesterday?

What motions can thrive
And keep me alive
When under the scope
Only figments survive?

And where did the might
needed for this fight
Disappear to at the
brink of this night?

No memories burned
nor freedom earned
as far as my present soul
is concerned.

I offered my hand
As parents had planned
And with that in mind,
your head dug the sand.

I show as a menace
when we invite Guinness
But only his kind can
get out what’s in us.

You banter, I nudge
We bend with no budge
But time has no space to
shelter a grudge.

No memories burned
nor freedom earned
as far as my present soul is concerned.

A rose for a rose
Nameless I suppose
Besides the feelings
when aroma flows

This one’s met defeat
More bitter than sweet
And redemption comes only
through moving feet.

I’m leaving tomorrow
My tears you can borrow
They no longer serve me
without a sad sorrow

No memories burned
but dignity earned
as far as my present soul is concerned.
